Another tribute to my visit to Ireland, this time a nod to the city of Waterford, Reginald’s Tower, and the plethora of Viking history that can be found in Ireland's eastern regions.
Waterford is Ireland's most ancient city, having been settled by the Vikings in 912 after initial pushback by the native inhabitants. Later sometime in the 12th-13th centuries a tower was built on top of Viking fortifications by the Anglo-Normans, and named Reginald's Tower. The Tower is still in center of the city, currently acting as a Viking Museum, complete with a longboat on display. There's so much history to Waterford, far more than I can say here, and besides which this is supposed to be a soap description. But I wholly encourage you to look more into the history of the fair city of Waterford, and highly recommend taking the trail from Dublin to there if you ever get a chance to visit. The views are lovely.
As a nod to the deep Norse history of Waterford is this runic stone soap, with a light and green scent made of green Bergamot, clementine, muguet, vetiver, eucalyptus, tree moss, patchouli, and cedar.
